UNDER CONSTRUCTION

It's been over a month since the order books opened up for the Lawrence and I'm still bowled over by how fast they sold out.

30 minutes after the site went live, the first 30 had already been secured and by the following evening, the rest had been snapped up.

If you missed out this time round, you can still sign up to the waitlist to be the first to know if a jacket becomes available in this run or when the next batch opens up.

FIELD NOTES

Over the years, I've found more and more inspiring British brands who are pushing the boundaries and overcoming the (many!) barriers of running a business on this island.

Focusing on quality and passion over profit and growth flies in the face of all the "use this hack to 10X your turnover today!" ads that I get served up on a daily basis.

But the people I'm meeting are successful beyond just the balance sheet. They're successfully keeping British industry alive.

BREMONT

Established in 2002, Bremont craft their timepieces at their Henley-On-Thames headquarters. I've got my eye on the Broadsword in Bronze.

BAXLEY GOODS

Handmade in the South Downs, Baxley's bags are made for function, form and positive impact. The Rolltop's a firm favourite!

HEDON HELMETS

Lindsay and Reginald founded Hedon helmets in 2011. They're designed and developed in their workshop in London and if I got a pound every time someone reached out on Instagram to ask what helmet Chris is wearing in the photo above, I'd be a wealthy man!

LANX SHOES

Made in Lancashire, Marv set up Lanx in 2016 after a 6 month adventure learning everything he could about the art of hand making shoes.

MOTO-LITA

Beautiful steering wheels, made by hand in Weyhill. Simon Green started the business in a shed in 1956 but by the 60s Aston Martin were fitting them as standard.

THANK YOU

There are so many more businesses that deserve a light to be shone on but who have I missed?

I love to find new brands so please let me know who you're inspired by so I can check them out.

Until next time, if you're in the UK, enjoy the weather - fingers crossed we're in for a long summer to make up for the terrible winter we had!
