Refund policy

This policy covers all purchases made at barnfieldcustoms.com. Please read it carefully before placing your order, as different terms apply to Made to Order products and to limited run or ready stock items.

Made to Order Products

The Hampden and all other Made to Order products are produced individually to your order and are therefore exempt from the standard 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, as they are made to your specifications. This exemption applies from the point at which production begins.

Cancellations may be requested within 48 hours of order confirmation, provided production has not yet begun. After 48 hours, or once production has begun — whichever is sooner — orders cannot be cancelled. Please see our Terms of Service for full details.

Fit issues are covered by our Fit Guarantee (see below). If your coat does not fit correctly despite following the size confirmation process, please contact us rather than initiating a standard return.

Fit Guarantee

We stand behind the fit of every garment we make. If your Hampden does not fit correctly despite following the size confirmation process, we will accept a return.

Where possible, we will first offer an exchange or alteration to resolve the fit issue. If this does not resolve the problem to your satisfaction, a full refund of the product price will be issued.

To be eligible you must contact us at info@barnfieldcustoms.com within 14 days of delivery. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. Original payment processing fees and outbound shipping costs are non-refundable as these are irrecoverable third-party charges.

This guarantee applies to fit issues only and does not apply to returns based on change of mind, colour preference, or other subjective factors unrelated to fit.

Limited Run and Ready Stock Items

For any limited run or ready stock items, we offer a 14-day return window from the date of delivery. To be eligible for a return, your item must be:

  • In the same condition in which you received it — unworn, unused, and with all tags attached
  • In its original packaging, including the kraft mailer box
  • Accompanied by your receipt or proof of purchase

To start a return, contact us at info@barnfieldcustoms.com before sending anything back. Items returned without prior authorisation will not be accepted.

Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. We recommend using a tracked service as we cannot accept liability for items lost in transit.

Damages and Faulty Items

Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or if you have received the wrong item. We will evaluate the issue and arrange a remedy as quickly as possible. Faulty or incorrectly supplied items will be collected at our cost.

Contact us at info@barnfieldcustoms.com with your order number and a description of the issue. Where helpful, please include photographs.

Exchanges

If you have a Made to Order product and believe there is a fit issue, please refer to the Fit Guarantee section above rather than requesting a standard exchange.

For limited run or ready stock items, the quickest way to exchange is to return your item in accordance with the returns process above and place a new order once your return has been accepted. We will notify you by email once your return has been received and inspected.

European Union Customers

If your order is being delivered to a country within the European Union, please note that Made to Order products remain exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation right under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, as they are manufactured to your specifications.

For limited run or ready stock items shipped to the EU, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days of receipt for any reason and without justification. The item must be returned in the same condition in which it was received — unworn, unused, with tags attached and in its original packaging including the kraft mailer box — accompanied by your receipt or proof of purchase. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility.

Refunds

We will notify you once we have received and inspected your return and confirm whether your refund has been approved. If approved, your refund will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days. Please allow additional time for your bank or card provider to process and post the refund.

Please note that original payment processing fees and outbound shipping costs are non-refundable as these are irrecoverable third-party charges.

If more than 15 business days have passed since your return was approved and you have not received your refund, please contact us at info@barnfieldcustoms.com.

Lifetime Repairs

Every Barnfield garment comes with our lifetime repairs commitment. If your coat develops a fault or requires attention outside the return window — whether that is a loose button, a seam, or anything else — contact us at info@barnfieldcustoms.com and we will arrange a repair.

This commitment reflects our belief that a coat built to this standard should last decades, and we will stand behind it for as long as you own it.
