Each Hampden Peacoat is individually hand made to order in England by skilled tailors using traditional cut and sew techniques. Every panel is carefully matched, every seam precisely finished and every detail considered.

Description

The front and side panels of the Hampden are cut from two layers of 500gsm Abraham Moon 100% wool melton. This unique construction provides exceptional warmth without bulk by creating a second layer of air between the body and the elements.

Hidden storm cuffs of organic cotton ribbing finish the fully articulated sleeves whilst layers of interfacing reinforce the pockets, cuffs and back yoke while lightweight padding and a canvas sleevehead roll support the shoulders.

The cloth, woven by Abraham Moon in Yorkshire since 1837, holds a sharp structured silhouette and will keep its shape season after season.

Following traditional peacoat construction, the design is deliberately minimal with clean lines, balanced proportions and a tailored cut so it will always feel relevant no matter how styles shift around it.

More than a winter coat, the Hampden is an investment in craft built to accompany you for decades, growing softer and more personal with each passing year whilst retaining it's tailored sihouette.

Once your order is placed, we’ll happily run through your measurements in detail. You will receive a welcome pack with information to book a virtual fitting with us.

Hopefully this will give you the best shot of getting the right size.

How ordering works

We work with a handful of skilled tailors who use traditional cut and sew techniques to make each product.

The process takes 12 weeks and you will receive an update email each week.

Only 4 coats enter production each week to ensure our quality standards are met. This means your order may join a queue before it reaches the cutting table.

The current lead time is listed at the top of the product description.

What to expect

On placing your order:
You will receive a package containing a tape measure and clear instructions to fill in a simple online form with your measurements.

If you prefer, you can book a one-on-one virtual fitting to go through sizing directly with us.

During the wait:
You will receive weekly email updates while your order is queued and during the build process, right up until your coat is delivered to your doorstep.

Refunds & exchanges

If for any reason, you’re not 100% happy with your coat, we’ll happily take it back.

We’ll need to receive it within 14 days of delivery and it’ll need to be in perfect condition so that we can process your refund and get it to the next person on the wait list.

If you realise that you have the wrong size when you take delivery, get in touch as soon as possible.

We ask that you pay the return fees.

Please make sure you use a tracked and insured service. If a coat gets lost in the post, we won’t be able to process a refund or exchange.

The Hampden is made of three different fabrics, two separate layers of interfacing plus canvas and felt shoulder pads. All these fabrics shrink at different rates under washing/drying conditions.

This means anything other than careful dry cleaning will poorly effect your coat.

If it needs a clean, your best bet is to use a very slightly damp cloth to spot clean any dirt or build up.

If you do need to visit a dry cleaners, we recommend heading into a GreenEarth® certified shop. GreenEarth® is a non-toxic and chemically inert solution, specifically developed to be kinder to clothes and to the environment.
