Description

The Anson is knitted from 100% merino wool in Nottingham using traditional fully fashioned construction and hand-linking techniques that few factories still practice today.

The result is a sweater with a clean, refined silhouette that layers comfortably beneath a tailored jacket or coat while remaining substantial enough to wear on its own.

Like everything we produce, the Anson is made in deliberately limited numbers. Once a colour run is gone, there is no guarantee it will return.

It's a piece designed to earn its place through years of ownership.

The Anson has a slim, tailored silhouette intended to sit comfortably beneath tailoring and outerwear without unnecessary bulk.

If you prefer a more relaxed fit, or fall between sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size.

The Anson is produced in limited colour and size runs.

Orders are dispatched from stock and typically leave within 24 hours on weekdays.

Once a colour run has sold through, availability cannot be guaranteed.

Refunds & exchanges

If the Anson isn't right for you, it can be returned within 14 days of delivery for a refund or exchange.

To be eligible, the sweater must be unworn, in perfect condition and returned with its original packaging.

We recommend using a tracked and insured delivery service, as we cannot accept responsibility for items lost in transit.

Body:

Care:

After wearing, allow the sweater to rest flat overnight before returning it to your wardrobe. Store it folded rather than hung to preserve its structure over time.

Most marks can be removed with a barely damp cloth. For anything beyond spot cleaning, we recommend a GreenEarth® certified dry cleaner. Their process was developed to be gentler on natural fibres and helps preserve the handle and structure of the knit.

A slim fit

The Anson has been designed to a slim fit to ensure that it doesn't effect anything worn over it.

If you are between sizes, intend to layer beneath it, or prefer a looser fit, we recommend going up a size.

Our model stands 6' (183cm) with a 40" chest, and wears a size Large.

Months

The Anson was developed over eighteen months to achieve a precise balance of proportion, weight and fit making it clean beneath tailoring but substantial enough to wear on its own.

Samples

It took sixteen individual samples to bring the Anson to life. Each revealed something that could be better. Gauge, tension, weight and structure were refined to create an exceptional sweater.

Per size

Each colour we launch is produced in a limited run of just six pieces per size. Once that allocation sells through, the colour is archived and we move on.

Gauge

Knitted at 7 gauge, the Anson has the weight, warmth and defined stitch character of a substantial midweight sweater. The larger stitch structure gives the fabric depth and a tactile handle.

Centimetres

The collar is half a centimetre narrower than standard for a midweight, 7-gauge wool sweater. Twelve of the sixteen samples were devoted to getting that proportion right. The reduced depth allows it to sit flat against the neck and layer cleanly over a shirt or beneath a coat.

Loop at a time

Each fully fashioned panel is joined by hand in Nottingham, one loop at a time, using the same merino yarn as the garment. The joins lie flatter against the body, reduce bulk and preserve the shape each panel was knitted to create.

Synthetic fibres

Pure merino wool, no acrylic, polyester or nylon blended in. Soft against the skin, heat regulating and moisture wicking.
